Electronic Signatures and Records
What happens when you sign a document in the client area, what the certificate proves, and your consent to electronic records.
1. What signing means
When you press "Sign" under a document in the client area, type your full name, tick the statement, pass the human check, and type back the one-time code we email you at that moment, you sign that document. Your typed name is your signature. It has the same effect as a handwritten signature to the extent the law allows, under the U.S. Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act (E-SIGN, 15 U.S.C. § 7001 et seq.), the Uniform Electronic Transactions Act as adopted in New Jersey (N.J.S.A. 12A:12-1 et seq.), and equivalent laws where you are, including Egypt's Electronic Signature Law (Law 15 of 2004) where applicable.
2. Your consent
By using the client area you consent to receive documents, notices, receipts and certificates from us electronically, and to sign them electronically. You need a device with a modern browser and an email address. You may withdraw this consent by writing to sales@theagenticlab.net; we will then work with you on paper, which may take longer.
3. What we record
For each signature we record: the name you typed; the statement you agreed to; the date and time (UTC and New York time); your IP address and country; your browser; the result of the human check; the fact and time that the one-time code we emailed you was typed back; and a SHA-256 fingerprint of the file exactly as it was signed. We assign a certificate id.
4. The certificate
We build a signature certificate from those records and email it to you and to the Lab at the moment of signing, with the signed file attached. The certificate stays available in your client area. Any copy of the file that produces the same fingerprint is the file you signed; a file with a different fingerprint is not.
The certificate proves who typed the name, when, from where, and which exact file. It is not a notarization, and it is not a government-issued digital certificate. Where a law requires a qualified or notarized signature, we will tell you and arrange it separately.
5. One signature, no edits
A document can be signed once. We do not change a document after it is issued; if a change is needed we issue a new one, which you sign again.
6. Your copies
Keep the certificate and the signed file we email you. You can also download both from your client area while you have an account. After an offboarding, we keep our copies as legal and accounting records, as the Privacy Policy explains.
7. Questions
If you think a signature was made without your authority, write to sales@theagenticlab.net at once. Version 1.0, September 7, 2026.
